its more than hip hop its music

Let's get back to da realness and foundation of the art and music ! there is A lot of hip hop out there but the content is limited . This game is bigger than me, don't prosecute da messenger . This modern musical culture and the evolution of the hip hop art has turned out to be a load of crap. What will follow after da bling era has faded?
Most of today's hip hop is repetitive and lacks content and one sometimes seeks the message behind the music and not just your club bangers that ain't gonna be banging a few months from its release ! Like miss Hill said "music is supposed to inspire", and right about now no such is happening . Don't just inspire me to get on the dance floor , give me content ! If its real its real and if its crap its only temporary and the masses will realize it , so next time you put pen to paper feed the listener something with content !*real talk* Hip hop is a way of life for niggaz dat really do it ! Elevate the art my people ! Shout out to the makers of real music...*streetauthormental*

Where is the movement headed ?

So what is the current state of hip hop? If you gave me a rand for every different response to the question posed, you would be looking at one rich man. Hip hop is a vast science that cannot be painted on a single canvas and framed because there is just too much going on out there. It has been said that a lot of the mainstream hip hop being put out there for public consumption lacks substance. So how is it that the same music is the one generating a lot of revenue? Is the industry and radio station dictating what is hot and what is not or don’t the masses give a damn anymore? So what’s playing on your mp3? With such a range of music considered being hip hop, which is real and which is not? One has been exposed to too many temporarily hot records that lose their taste in a couple of weeks, that one starts to wonder whether artists are putting in enough substance in their expression to ensure sustenance of their music or whether they are doing hip hop for monetary gain. The current state of the game is a matter of opinion and what the individual prefers as opposed to what is real and what is not. What I’m hearing on the rotation currently is a whole lot of talk about how many chicks a brother is bagging, the cars one owns, party tracks and how many dude sold on the last record. This is not reflective of all the shit playing on the air waves but a large proportion of it. Have we all lost our minds? Are we a generation that would rather party our lives away than address issues facing us? Where is the message behind the music and how is it uplifting to the next person? Cats seem to be stuck on one formula that is currently working for them, where all you need is a banging beat and shallow lyricism about materialistic bullshit to make a hit. People seem not to care about what they are putting into their minds and if this trend continues, then we looking at a generation that is all about partying, sex and materialistic worth. The people putting out work with substance are only found on your street mix-tapes that do not get air-play while the irrelevant shit is highly marketed and rotated. There is a problem when heads complain about real music not being out there but when it is, non are willing to purchase it. We need to change the format on this type of behavior and make people take note that hip hop is not just a fashion trend but a movement that needs to carry over to future generations. Some music is good and some music is just plain stupid and should not be mentioned in the same sentence with the word music. Let us put some thought into what we putting out without losing the elements of creativity and showcasing skill. “Real recognize real and right now they’re looking unfamiliar!” It’s about time that true artists shine and the mimics be put to sleep. On some next $hit!!!
